Competition!

We are all very excited in the French Department as we have just launched the French section on the new Gems Learning Gateway (GLG). However, we would like to include a picture at the beginning of our section. So children, we would like you to draw a picture for us that we could use. Your picture should be something to do with French and should be on A4 paper, landscape. The closing date is 25 October. Please hand your entry to your French teacher. Bonne chance! (Good luck). There will be a prize for the winning entry!

Taille: 1.5m
Cheveux: blonds
Yeux: bleus

Did you manage to work out that Mademoiselle Cairn's first name is Sarah and that she is Welsh (Wales is part of the UK). She is about 1.5m tall and has blond hair and blue eyes. Mademoiselle Cairns has one sister. She likes to play netball. She adores visiting France (especially Paris, Nice and Bordeaux). Finally, she loves to eat fish!

Madame Shaw is also part of our team and she will be teaching French to children in Year 1 and Year 2. Finally, Madame Hodgson will also be coming along to some of your French lessons.

Don't forget to say 'Bonjour' to us if we see you around school. We love to hear you speaking French!

Corridor Displays!

Have you seen our lovely new display boards at the end of the Year 5 corridor? We have two displays: one is about all the countries in the world where French is spoken; the other board is about Paris. Have a look if you haven't already done so and see if you can answer some of the questions!

French Books ...

Don't forget that there are a number of French books for you to borrow from the JPS Library, including fiction and non-fiction books. The books are suitable for all age ranges at JPS and the Librarian will be able to help you to find them.
